Feu vert à l'indemnisation des victimes de PIP

La chambre d'instruction de la cour d'appel d'Aix-en-Provence a annoncé hier qu'une indemnisation pourrait être donnée aux femmes qui se sont fait retirer leurs implants PIP de manière préventive, par peur que l'un d'eux soit défectueux et dangereux pour
la santé.

Cette décision révoque celle rendue le mois dernier par la juge Annaïck Le Goff qui avait exclu de la procédure pour blessures involontaires ces cinq femmes au motif qu'elles n'avaient pas subi de rupture de leurs implants. Mais pour leurs avocats, le seul fait de s'être fait retirer leurs prothèses valait reconnaissance de leur statut de victime.

ses prothèses sera prise en compte, même si les prothèses n'étaient pas rompues.Pour rappel, en 2010, la société PIP a été accusée d'avoir utilisé de manière illégale un gel de silicone fait maison au lieu d'un gel homologué dans les implants mammaires qu'ils fabriquaient. Les prothèses vendues par la société ont tendance à craquer plus facilement et si le gel fait maison se propage dans le corps des patientes, leur vie est mise en danger.

À l'époque, le gouvernement avait recommandé aux femmes porteuses des prothèses PIP de se les
faire retirer, soit 30 000 en France et à peu près 400 000 aux États-Unis, en Tunisie ou Amérique du Sud. Bon nombre d'entre elles ont développé des maladies graves comme des cancers à cause des produits non autorisés que contenaient les prothèses.
